Annie Louise Mathis was born to the late Early William Mathis and Rosa Lee Vester on February 23, 1944, in Oxford, Mississippi. At an early age they moved to Rubonia, Florida. She attended some of her schooling in the Manatee County School system and later moved to Old Sun City, Florida, whereshe graduated from Middleton High School in Tampa, Florida.
She later moved back to Rubonia and had two children. Harry Jerome Coleman jr (Son) and Veronica Ann Coleman (daughter).
Through the years, she started in 1973 working for the Manatee County School Board Migrant Program as a teacher’s aide and then to Palm View Elementary. She retired in 2008 with 35 years of service helping young kids to learn.
She was preceded in death by her (Father) Early William Mathis, (Mother) Rosa Lee Curtis, (brother) William Mathis, and (sister) Ida Faye Curtis.
She departed this life on February 26, 2025, but not out of our hearts. She leaves to cherish her memory: Son: Harry (Marvina) Coleman, Sarasota, FL, Daughter; Veronica McCrea, Rubonia, FL, Sisters: Margret Washington, Rubonia, FL, Maggie Love Bradenton, FL, Grandson: Christopher (Debbie) Coleman, Rubonia, FL; Granddaughter: Tyshawna Coleman, Palmetto, FL; Great-Grandson: Christopher Coleman, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
