Antar Al-Basir (AKA Dennis Harrell, bom April 2, 1949 to the late Mose Harrell and Flora Lee Williams.
He graduated from Lincoln Memorial High School in 1967.
After gradation, he attended Florida A&M University
(FAMU) where he received a bachelors degree in English in 1971.
He had a life of various careers. He was a school teacher, firefighter, and an adult English language teacher in various countries. He travelled often and was living out of the country for many years.
He is survived by his children, Deirdre D. Harrell Warren, from Bradenton, H. Salimah M. Al-Basir from Jacksonville, FL, and Nnomdi Davis, Jacksonville, FL.
He also leaves behind his brothers, Mose Harrell, Jr., Albert Harrell, Rickey Harrell, Joseph L. Harrell, Broderick Harrell, Eldred Brown, and sisters, Vercina Harrell, Marchelle D. Harrell, Martina R. Gaskins, and Althea T. Harrell. His grandchildren, Dominique Warren, Donnise Warren, Donald Warren, Jr., Aaron Barton, Ronald Thompson, Jr., and Lashonda Thompson; Greatgrandchildren, Samaryi’a Bostic and Derrick D. Mann, Ill, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
