Arthur James Thomas was born in Manatee County, Florida, to the late Mr. John Thomas and Rosa Monroe.
Arthur, known to many as “Art” graduated from Lincoln Memorial High School, Palmetto, FL, in 1968. He joined the Armed Forces and served in the United States Army from 1969-1971.
Upon leaving the military, he began his professional career with SunTrust Bank of Orlando, FL. He was a devoted employee. Upon retirement, he enjoyed reading and football. He often volunteered at football games’ concession stands.
He was predeceased by both parents and his sibling(s).
He leaves to cherish his loving memories a favorite sister and best friend, Beatrice Hall of Rubonia, FL; a stepson, Michael Warren of Orlando, FL; special nieces, Kathy Armstead and Terry Clark Rawls, both of Orlando, FL, and Beatrice Davis and Frankie Braxton, both of Rubonia, FL; special nephews, Dana (Felicia) Miller and Charles, Jr. (Ana) Miller, both of Rubonia, FL, a sister-in-law, Rosa Thomas; a close friend and nephew, Charles Miller, Sr. “Pops” of Rubonia; a devoted and special longtime friend “BJ” aka Barbara Armstead and her family of Orlando, FL; a nephew, Pastor Jake Stovall of Orlando, FL; the class of 1968 of Lincoln Memorial High School; Ruby Fobbs of Palmetto, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
