Ashley Dawes Obituary

Ashley Brian Dawes was born September 14, 1980, to Mrs. Patricia
Rhodes and Mr. Ervin Dawes.
Ashley attended and graduated from Palmetto High School, Class of 1999.
He was a part of the varsity football team under the leadership of coach Bob
Bowling. He was known for his outstanding athletic talent as a linebacker
and basketball player.
Ashley was a member of the St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Fletcher Lawson, Jr. He was a member
of the Youth and Children Choir, usher board, and the Male Chorus.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Rhodes, Jr.; maternal
grandparents, Deacon Clarence and Ola Mae Sims; and fraternal
grandparents, Ezell and Alveria Dawes, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Ashley J. Dawes; parents,
Patricia Rhodes and Ervin Dawes; siblings, Yolanda, Shawnda, Sherelle,
Sherena, and Brandi Dawes, and Charlton and Chantel Rhodes; nephew,
Charles Mckoy; godparents, Pamela Atkins and the late Roosevelt Sr.,
Wanda and Henry Belvin, and Elenore and Nehemiah Bundrage, Sr.;
maternal aunts and uncles, Reverend J.C. and the late Charlotte Sims, the
late Deacon Horace Sr. and Rosetta Dozier, the late Deacon Aaron and
Rebecca Hall, Clara and the late Lorenzo Miller, Deacon Curtis and Doris
Sims, and James and Darlene Sims; and paternal aunts and uncles, the
late Uncle Ezra Dawes, the late Ronald Gene and Zelmer Dawes, Francine
Jefferson, Ezell Dawes, Jr., Althea and the late Levi Bellinger, and Donna
Lynn and the late Van Dunbar, Sr.
He also leaves to cherish his memories: special cousins, J. C. Sims, Jr.,
Beatrice Beckom, Jaunita Whitley, Frank Sims, Sandra Terry, Cynthia
Mazon, Pamela Atkins, Gracie Murrell, Theresea Johnson, Annette and
Jeanette Dozier, Horace Dozier, Jr., Roosevelt Atkins, Jr., Courtney Atkins,
Kenny Brown, Angela Hall, Melissa Thomas, Edward Bennett III, Edrena
Williams, Edward Bennett IV, Brion Bennett, Ladawn Sims, Ebony (Chris)
Searles, Tasha Pile, Gleanda Sims, Michael (Dee Dee) Middleton, Ezera
Dawes, and Ezell III; special friends, Anthony “Amp” Cooper, The Fellas
Under the Tree, St. Mary’s Junior Deacons, Palmetto High Varsity Football
