Carrie Washington known as Mrs. Washington to most "MOM" to her children and Granny/"Big Ma" to her grandchildren, was born December 18, 1929 in Tallahassee Florida to the late Rebecca Jefferson Waymon and Robert Waymon
Carrie accepted Christ at an early age and continued her work for the Lord throughout her life
Her pride was her children and grandchildren who she dearly loved. Carrie was educated in the Leon county school system in Tallahassee Florida. She was a graduate of FAMU University, and a member of the Eastern Stars. She was an educator in the Manatee county and Sarasota county school system for over 30 years she retired after teaching and touching the lives of many generations of children throughout her career.
Carrie departed this earth to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Mose Washington, mother, Rebecca J Waymon, father Robert Waymon, Daughter Mozell Washington Cajuste. Brother, Samuel Johnson,Jr , and 2 grand children
She leaves to cherish her memories. Her daughters Gwen, Washington Davis(Greg), Maearttic Moore Smith, Cherie Jackson Smith, Crystal Jackson Waiters (Donald); Sons: Willie Washington Sr, Samuel Washington (Melerye) Derrick Washington, Bernard Travis, Charles (Chuck) Jackson III, Joe Dixon Sr and Maxi Cajuste. A sister, Dorothy K Richardson. Grandchildren, Sabrina Williamson, Joanna Dixon Harris. (Maurice), Allison Braxton (Eugene), Deniece King (Joseph), Breanna Rome, Lakena Williams (Damon). Grandsons: Joel Dixon Jr (Angie), Malik Davis, Roderick Hamilton Jr, Willie R. Washington Jr, (Jaraux), Rodrick M. Washington (Tara), Rufaro Owens , Larry Brown, Gregory, Davis III Godchildren: Belinda Love, Antoinette Womack, Melinda J.Smith. 36+ great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
