Daniel Harris Obituary

Daniel Lee Harris was born on January 30, 1953, in Palmetto, Florida. After a brief illness, he transitioned peacefully at Manatee Memorial Hospital on April 4, 2026.

Born to the late Dorothy Mae Whitaker and Alvin “Twister” Arline. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Emma Robinson, and his beloved nephews, Glenn Searls, Jr., and LaDarryl McCall, uncle Oscar Robinson.

Raised in Palmetto, FL Daniel was educated in Manatee County Schools. He worked at Tropicana and held various other jobs throughout his life. Daniel accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and answered His call.

Daniel Lee was truly one of a kind. Daniel had a deep admiration for dressing and was known to be a sharp dresser. He always topped his style with matching hats and shoes. He loved his clothes so much that he took them to the dry cleaners up until he passed. You would not catch Daniel Lee without being dressed up; that is who he was.

Known for his pleasant smile, he always respected his elders and was not the one to hold grudges against anyone. He was a man who loved his family. He did not like attending funerals and during his lifetime he never did. Daniel lived his life and danced to the beat of his own drum up until he was no longer able to.

He leaves to cherish his memory: to his loving children, daughter, Danette Harris of Stamford, CT; sons, Howard (Jill) Crocoft of Amarillo, Texas, Johnny Anderson Sr. of St. Petersburg, Fl, and Michael Johnson of St. Pe tersburg, FL; Grandfather to Jaxon Crocoft, Jamison Crocoft, Jazlyn Crocoft, Eraliynn Crocoft, Kimora Johnson, and Johnny Anderson, Jr.; Daniel is also survived by his siblings: Glenn (Dorothea) Searls of Braden ton, FL, Danny Harris, Sr., St. Petersburg, FL, Willie (Vernell) Clark, Sr., Parrish, FL, Yvonne (Bennie) Bundrage of Bradenton, FL, Patricia Gore of Wimauma, FL and Delbra Arline Howard of Palmetto, FL.

In addition, Daniel Lee left behind a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish him.
