Deacon Kennedy Gibson Obituary

Deacon Kennedy F. Gibson was born on December 7, 1963, in Manatee County, where he also attended public schools. Throughout his life, he worked hard and proudly served his community in many roles. He held various positions within Manatee and Sarasota counties, operating heavy machinery for numerous construction and roofing companies. He also was an underwater welder, a professional driver for Wong Kia Import and Waste Management for more than 15 years. He had a deep passion for everything he did. He loved to laugh, have fun, and truly lit up a room whenever he walked in. Known as the life of the party, his joyful spirit and warm presence touched everyone he met. Kennedy was a faithful member of New Hope Holiness with Deliverance Ministries, Inc., for more than 30 years, where he served in many capacities and was the Chairman Deacon prior to his illness.  He served the elderly, youth, and widows.
He supported his pastors and other church ministries in the community.

Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents, Ebenezer and Christeen Gibson; three brothers, Willie Lawson, John McKenzie, and William McKenzie; and three sisters, Henrietta Reeves, Irene Matthews, and Chattie Mae Fields- Matthews.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted wife, Elder Kerri Gibson; two sons, Pastor Tamar, Sr., (wife Sydna) Gibson and Dwight, (wife Semico) Gibson; five beloved grandchildren, Tamya, Tamar Jr., Tamea, Vincent, and Devlen; he is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beulah (husband Dennis Sr.) Williams; brothers-in-law, Don Sr. (wife Buddy Ann) Ward and Verna Sr. (wife Alice) Ward; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, church family, and friends who will forever remember his laughter, love, and the light he brought into their lives.
