It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Demetrius “Lil Tony” Lightfoot, Jr., who departed this life on May 18, 2026, at the age of 17.
Demetrius, affectionately known as “Lil Tony” by family and friends, was a beloved son, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought joy, laughter, and love to those around him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, vibrant spirit, infectious smile, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Born on July 21, 2008 in Bradenton, Florida, Demetrius was cherished by his family and friends. He had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Lil Tony is preceded by great-grandmother, Gladys Smith; great-aunt, Lori Smith; and great-uncle, Jimmie Bell, Sr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Gabrielle Smith and Demetrius ‘Tony” Lightfoot; greatgrandmother, Agnes Kirkland; grandmother, Regina Smith and Carolyn Lightfoot; grandfather, Wayne Sanders and Ray Fields; sisters, Dalyric Lightfoot and Shanerica Ward; brothers, Nate Dawes, Keyondrick Clayton, Jayden Wade, and Jordan Wade; great-aunt, Lisa Alexander and Denise Jackson; great-uncle, Keith Smith and Willie Jackson; aunt, Laquanda Renet, Tamara Lightfoot, Nicole Sanders, Voldavia Smith, Natasha Evans, Shawntere Evans, Celestine Smith, Niesha Smith, Crystal Brown Lodge, Toy Sanders, Crystal Johnson, and Courtney Cannon; uncle, Shevert Smith, Jamal Sanders, Craig Koonce, Anthony Bacon, Rodrick Lodge, and Manny Renet; special friend, Romiya Williams; and a host of cousins and countless friends whose lives were touched by his love and friendship.
Though his time with us was far too short, his legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Though we mourn his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his memory will remain a guiding light for all who loved him. Forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed, forever 17.
