Dorothy Bailey

Dorothy Elise (Brown) Bailey entered into her external rest on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in her home in Palmetto, FL.

Dorothy was born on September 8, 1961 to the late Ethel McLeod Brown and Rufus Brown. She was the baby girl of 11 siblings. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Henderson Bailey. She never remarried. 

Dorothy was born and raised in Sumter, SC. She moved to Palmetto, Florida in 1998. She was the life of the party. She enjoyed family and laughter. Each of her children and grandchildren were given unique nicknames that she created. However, her favorite phrase when she spoke to you was "Hey Charlie". She worked as a manager in the fast food industry.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories seven children: Julius(Diamond) Brown of Sarasota, FL, Donald Brown of Palmetto, FL, Doris (Marty) Glover of Columbia, SC, Henderson (Latoya) Bailey of Charlotte, NC, Patricia Bailey of Columbia, SC, Jennifer Bailey of Sumter, SC, Jessical Bailey of Orlando, FL; twenty grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Moore of Sumter, SC and one brother, Henry Brown of Sumter, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Memorial Service: At the request of the family, this will be private.
