Dorothy Lee “Dot” Parrimon, 90, peacefully passed away on January 23, 2025. Born on August 17, 1934, in Bradenton, Florida, Dorothy devoted her life to creating a loving and nurturing home for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward; her son Bernard; and many other family members and friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
Dorothy received her education from Manatee and Palm Beach Counties schools. Dor othy pursued a profession in cooking, where her culinary talents shined bright, especially her signature green beans and apple pie.
She worked at Suncoast Rehabilitation for many years, where her dedication and kindness touched the lives of many. She regularly promoted healthy eating, encouraging her family to
choose nutritious foods and adopt healthier habits.
Dorothy's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She consistently reminded younger family members to use proper etiquette such as sit up straight in your chair. Her strong faith shaped her life and motherhood. She instilled a love of learning, a passion for cooking, a commitment to community service, and a devotion to church in her loved ones. Dorothy especially enjoyed reading and listening to the Word of God, while uplifting His name through all genres of gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bernard Parrimon, Sr., and her parents, Will and Daisy Searles of Palmetto, FL; sisters, Cordelia Searles-Harris of Santa Monica, CA, Catherine Johnson of Rochester, NY, Juanita Hamilton of Bradenton, FL, and Lou-Henri Searles-Breedlove of Rochester, NY; brothers, Joseph “Big Joe” L. Searles, Sr., Lester Searles, Johnnie Searles, Sr., and Vernon Searles,
all of Rochester, NY.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Edward B. Parrimon, Jr. and his wife, Masonja; grandchildren, Zandy Parrimon, D’Iris Parrimon, Edward Parrimon III, Mesonyah Parrimon, and Amir Parrimon; great-grandchildren, Rotavian Williams and Mahlaya Parrimon; sister, Madiese Anderson of Bradenton, FL; and brothr, Willie “W.J.” Searles (Sarah) of Rochester, NY. She is also survived by special nieces, Tawanda Simmons, Angel Washington, and Sabrina Cunningham, as well as grandchildren-in-love Maryann Bivens and Jeffrey Cooper. Dorothy leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and lifelong friends.
Her memories will forever live in our hearts. Rest in peace, our beloved Dorothy. Your spirit and love will continue to blossom within us all.
