Eddie Lee West, was born on December 11, 1954, in Palmetto, Florida,
to the late Alvin and Mary Toney.
He was educated in the Manatee County school system. He graduated from Manatee High-school and after high school, he obtained his construction trade from Manatee Technical Institute. He dedicated his service and worked many years as a brick mason.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin “Twister” Arline and
Mary Lee Toney; son, Jarard Martin, Jr.; three brothers, Dennis Johnson, Alonzo Arline-Simmons, and Ivory Figgs; brother-in-law, Leon Gilbert, Sr.; and nephew, Byron Jenkins, Jr.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted and loving wife,
Elnora Oats-West; four children, Eddie West, Jr., Troy West, Tanisha West Bottley, and Tiffany (Darryl) Hardin; one sister, Delbra Arline Howard; four brothers, Alvin Singleton, Daniel Harris, Ezell Dawes,and Luther Singleton; three sisters-in-law, Wanda Oats-Wade, Cathy
Oats, and Janice Truewell; one brother-in-law, Ronald Oats, Sr.; two uncles, Hubert (Betty) Toney and William James Toney; four aunts, Jerneva Toney-Threadcraft, Pearlie Toney, Lucille Pratt, and Thelma House; special niece, Tia Arline (Jaron); nineteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
