Willie Gus Cunningham of St. Petersburg, Florida was born on November 15, 1934, in Bainbridge, GA to the late Wallace and Rebecca Cunningham. He was the third of four children, who all preceded him in death. In 1952 his family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from Gibbs High School in 1954. He finished his spiritual journey and peacefully answered the Masters' call to his eternal rest on the evening of October 22, 2025.
He worked for the City of St. Petersburg for 46 years. Retiring in 2007 as Forestry Foreman for Parks and Recreation Department.
Willie was a faithful member of All Nations Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida where he served in many departments of the church. He loved the Lord and was always willing to help anyone he could. He lived the life of a Chrisian daily. His goal was to hear Jesus say, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."
Having touched many lives with his kindness, humbleness, gentle spirit and heart full of love, he leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 31 years, Doris. One son, Maurice (April) Cunningham, Harvest, AL; 2 daughters, Melissa Cunnigham, Huntsville, AL, and Shonda Selin, Tampa, FL Three grandchildren, Joshua Cunningham, Huntsville, AL, Darise Andrews and Sydney Wilson, Harvest, AL. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends and coworkers.
