Emerson Murray Obituary

Deacon Emerson Talmage Murray was born on June 07,1934 in Jasper Florida to the late Willie and Amy (Puttman) Murray of Rubonia, Florida. He was affectionally known as “Sonny”. He was called and peacefully departed on October 27, 2025 to his Heavenly Home.

Emerson attended the public schools of Manatee County. He worked as a cement truck driver for Rinker Materials Cement Company, Palmetto, FL for 30 plus years. After retirement, he was a Bus Driver for Boys and Girls Club of Manatee County.

Emerson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. Later he wasordained a Deacon at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Rubonia, Florida where he served until his illness and called to his Heavenly Home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Lee, Sons: Alton E. Murray, Sr, Felix Bush. Daughter: Lorraine {Murray} Castleberry}. Parents: Willie and Amy Murray, Brothers: Earnest, Stonewall, Lewis Murray, June Miller. Sisters: Ida Mae Dixon, Margaret Scott, Helen Gieger, Janita White, Doris Murray, Bernice Gloster. Grandchildren: Alton E. Murray, Jr, Toriano Richardson, Todd Murray, Angel Murray, Jermaine Murray.


He leaves a vacant spot in the heart and mind of those who loved and cherish him. Children: Gerald {Mary) Murray, Bradenton, Patricia {Tommie) Anderson, Bradenton, Fl, Tonya {Percy} Bridgeman, Bradenton, FL, Wanda Bush, Palmetto, Fl. Son- Law Robert Castleberry.  Grandchildren: Tiffany Freeman, Tapico (Terrance) Mays, Jansan (Monica) Murray, , Troy Williams, Reggie, Redena Adams, Darryl (Brandi) Anderson, Tamara Murray, Brandon Murray, Stanley Murray, Trent Murray, Bernetta Murray, Stephanie Murray, Tikeria Murray, Shamika
Murray Shermeka Wright, Quianna Murray, Dr. Tonya Murray, Kelli Mitchell, Samantha (Brandon) Jackson, Austin Oliver, Alaylah Adams. Two Brothers: Johnny {Shirley} Murray, Palmetto, FL, Reverend Wallace (Dovie) Murray, Atlanta, GA. Sisters: Emma (Randolph) Hodo, Denver, CO, Cora Lee Fobbs, Rock Hill, SC. Sister-In Laws, Rosemary Murray, Bradenton, FL, Nancy Bragg, Evelyn Harris, Palmetto, FL. Brother-In Law: Lee Gieger. Ridgeway, SC. Fifty-Eight Great Grand Children, Twenty-Three Great-Great Grandchildren. Emerson also leaves to mourn
a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.
