Evangelist Vivian Delores Roberts Jones

Evangelist Vivian Delores Roberts Jones was born on January 27, 1944, in Weirsdale, Florida, to the late J.B. Robertson and Keturah Merritt. An only child, Vivian was lovingly raised alongside her grandmother, Lottie Merritt, and grew up surrounded by the warmth of family, sharing a close bond with her ten cousins—especially her beloved cousin, Sally.
Vivian pursued her education with determination, attending college before marrying Robert Jones. Though the marriage later ended in divorce in 1974, Vivian pressed forward with strength and resilience, building a life rooted in faith, purpose, and love. She became a licensed cosmetologist, a gift that allowed her to care for others both inside and out, while raising her three cherished children: her son, Bryan Jones; and her daughters, Carmen Jones-Murrell and Nicole Jones-Reaves.
A woman of deep faith, Evangelist Jones faithfully served the Lord throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Garden of Prayer CLG in Weirsdale, Florida, before relocating to Palmetto, Florida, where she continued her spiritual journey as a member of Turner Chapel AME Church. Her love for worship was evident in her joy for playing the piano and singing, using her gifts to glorify God and uplift others.
Vivian dedicated many years of service to the Palmetto Youth Center, where she worked compassionately with the elderly until her retirement. Her caring spirit, gentle wisdom, and servant’s heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her four grandchildren: Jerrica Murrell McDonald, Jecara Murrell, Teyrol Reaves, Jr., and Katana Reaves; four great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure her life and legacy.
Evangelist Vivian Delores Roberts Jones will be remembered as a woman of faith, music, service, and unwavering love—one who finished her race and now rests in eternal peace.
