Evelyn Evangeline Rhoden was born to William and Ellen Gifford
Booth on June 10, 195l in the district of Bluefields in the parish of
Westmoreland, Jamaica. She was the 5th of 7children, the first Ruel Boothe predeceased her.
At the age of 15, Evelyn left Westmoreland to live in Kingston which
became her home until 1986 when she migrated to Brooklyn, New York. She spent 4 years in New York then moved to Florida to enjoy a more tropical climate. For the remainder of her life, 32 years, she lived and worked in Florida as a health care worker which she enjoyed doing.
Evelyn was a very outspoken person, never afraid to tell you what is on her mind. She was a very kind, compassionate and hospitable person, who loved sharing. One of her favorite hobbies was cooking and she cooked just about everything. She loved her children and grandchildren and took pride and joy in blessing them with many valuables especially the grandchildren.
On Sunday, December 25, 2022, at 2:43 pm Evelyn took her last breath after just a few months of sickness. Our hearts rejoice because she died in the Lord.
Evelyn will be sadly missed by her 2 sons - Eaton Anthony Bell and Nigel Nicholas Bertram; daughters-in-law - Suzan and Valerie; grandchildren - Kiela, Eaton jr, Aaliyah. Nyle, Nicholas, Jamar and Sapphire. 3 sisters - Adespie, Valerie, and Catherine; 2 brothers- Bramwell and Wycliffe. Many nieces and nephews; best friends - Floretta Calder, Jean, Frankie Cesile and Alvin; co-workers and a church family.
Sunset came for Evelyn but sunrise she will see.
