Gwendolyn Diane Coger, 70, of Palmetto, Florida, was born on February 29, 1956, to the late Charlene Coger and Boyzilla Harper. She peacefully transitioned from her earthly home on
Monday, May 25, 2026.
Gwendolyn, lovingly known as Gwen, was the youngest of seven siblings. She was preceded in death by her siblings Anna Jo Basnite, Rachel Mae Sanders, and Emma Lee Coger Simmons.
She leaves behind her beloved siblings Eartha Lee Bryant, Helen Powell, and Leroy Coger. She attended Lincoln Memorial High School and later graduated from Manatee Technical Center. Gwen was a gifted seamstress who was well known for her talent and creativity, including making beautiful bridesmaid dresses.
Gwen’s home and heart were always open to others. She generously gave her time, wisdom, resources, and love to anyone in need. Even on her hardest days, Gwendolyn never failed to show kindness and compassion to others. She was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ and faithfully lived her life according to her Christian values. Sister Gwen was a dedicated member
of Eternity Temple for many years, where her faith continued to grow and inspire those around
her.
In addition to her faith, Gwen was admired for her charm, entrepreneurial spirit, baking skills, honesty, warmth, and kindness. Her laughter and loving nature touched everyone who had the
pleasure of knowing her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Stacy Hopkins, Jason Hopkins, AustinVincent, and Quinton Vincent (Ingrid Vincent); her grandchildren, Jalen and Jadia Holmes; her great-grandchild, Santana Holmes; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.
