Herbert Hines, Sr., was born to the late
Earl Hines, Sr., and Louise Virgil Hines in Bradenton,
Florida, on October 15, 1955. He was a native of Manatee
County all of his life. He was introduced to and accepted
Christ at an earlier age. Mr. Hines also attended local
schools in the area. Herbert graduated as the senior
class president of Southeast High School in 1973. He
attended the University of Florida on a full-ride football
scholarship. Shortly after, he made a rightful decision
to preach God’s words as an ordained minister. Herbert
believed in working hard from sunup to sundown.
There was never a job that was not too hard for him or
too small that he couldn’t handle. He was an all-around
handyman who loved helping everyone he met.
Herbert Hines leaves his fondest memories that will
never be forgotten with his son, Herbert Hines Jr.,
(Trina); granddaughters, Jebrea and Jeleisha; grandson,
Amir; great-granddaughter, Amina; sisters, Priscilla
Frazier (Tommie), Cynthia Riley (Andrew), and Kim
Holloway; brother, Edrick Hines, Sr.; special friend,
Sharon Pompey; along with multiple generations of
nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Idella
Randall (Hubert), Earl Hines, Jr. (Joyce), and Clyde
Hines, Sr. (Sonya).
