Mother Joynita was born to the late Mother Bernice Isom and Roland Pompey Sr.
She was raised attending Saint Luke Primitive Baptist Church and later became part of Holy Christian Church Inc. under the leadership of Bishop Lewis W.Sherman, where she served for many years on the Mother’s Board and sung in the choir.
Mother Joynita graduated from Palmetto High School then attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and Webster Business College. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years before showcasing her culinary skills at the family restaurant, the Rock Inn, alongside her mother, Mother Bernice, Aunt Mother Ruth, known as Madea, and her late brother Jason Warren.
Mother Joynita had a deep love and passion for children, beginning her journey in childcare through babysitting.
Mother Joynita is survived by her husband the love of her life for of over 30 years, Deacon Mr. Leroy Murray, her one and only babygirl Vanessa Murray-Butler, and her son-in-law whom she loved dearly Juan Butler.
She also leaves to mourn Her Sisters Sebrina Isom of South Carolina and Stella Vauss (John) ofPalmetto, Florida, and Her Brother Deacon Michael Isom (Deborah) of Bradenton, Florida. Her Children include Melissa Murray of Bradenton, April Murray of Tampa, Lakisha Murray of Tampa, Marlena Murray of Georgia, and Gabriel Murray of Orlando.
She was the Grandmother of Zaire,Juan,Delondria,Lorenzo,Demiayah,Cameron,Dakiyah,Terrace,Mia,Terrance,Chill and theGreat-Grandmother of Jeron, Dakari, Jhett, Jhene and Lennox.
Mother Joynita's family also includes Nieces Monica Frank (Rodney) of Tampa, Kelly Mitchellof Palmetto, Samantha Jackson (Brandon) of Ruskin, Shanita Isom of Beaufort, South Carolina,mDeanna Isom of Tampa, Lucrezia Mays of Palmetto and Makira Hall of Tallahassee, Florida, asmwell as Nephews Jimmy Pope (Farah) of Jacksonville, Florida. & Bogie Mays Jr. of Palmetto . Her Aunts are Mother Ophelia Bailey of Palmetto and Pearl Houston of Bradenton. Sister in Law’s Mary Ann Murray , Nefertiti Watkins-Tate & Shaun Murrell
She is also remembered by her Godchildren Darren Thomas, Lashera Isom, Isabella Rios,Kaniya Murray, Kaliyah Murray, Khalil Murray (aka Scoota), Webster and Laqoyaa Murray, along with God sister Tracy Kelly and God brother Deacon Jerome Isom. Mother Joynita was cherished by many cousins, friends and extended family, With Special Thanks given to the Davita Dialysis Team and Kidney Doctor Chauhan.
