Katrina Lovette (Gadson) Sumpter was born January 21st, 1976 in Gainesville, FL to James Gadson Sr. and Gloria Waiters Gadson. She attended public school in Marion County, FL and graduated from North Marion High School in 1994.
Katrina met her husband Ronald (Jr.) in December of 1995. They fell in love and married October 10th, 1997. In their early years of marriage, Katrina stood faithfully with her husband during his years of military service. And God blessed their marriage union with the gift of two beautiful children, Ty’Ron and Ty’Riona.
Katrina attended Shining Light C.O.G.I.C. In addition to church activities, Katrina enjoyed crafting, spending time with family, traveling, and tailgating in Miami when attending Miami Hurricanes sporting events.
Today we say goodbye to someone very special whom we will forever cherish. Katrina departed this life on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 in Ruskin, FL at the age 50.
Katrina’s life and loving memories will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her husband - Ronald Sumpter Jr., children - son, Ty‘Ron Sumpter, daughter Ty‘Riona Sumpter, Goddaughter Chloé Rosier, grandson Ki’ontae Sumpter; parents- James (Sr.) and Gloria Gadson; bonus parents, Ronald (Sr.) and Cynthia Sumpter of Palmetto, FL; siblings – Shaunda Armstrong, James Gadson Jr. (Mary) and Marcus Gadson (Brittany) all of Ocala, FL; Craig and Felicia Sumpter of Palmetto, FL; Grandmother, Thelma Scott of Palmetto, FL; Aunts- Connie Hunt of Palmetto, FL, LaShawn Paschal (Jerry) of Sarasota, FL; Uncle Eddie Scott of Palmetto, FL, bonus aunt Pamela Thomas of Philadelphia, PA; Bonus Siblings – Shelton and Erica Bruton, Corey and Toni Rosier and Donald and Tammy Smith; Special cousins – Louis Goff and Kevin Sanders, and her Army Brothers Hen, P, Smitty, Wiley, Hill and others from her days in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
