Mrs. Laura Mae Rumph was born August 5, 1937 in Branchville, South Carolina to the late Joseph Sr. and Laura Johnson Felder.
At an early age, she joined Canaan Baptist Church in Branchville, South Carolina. When she relocated to Florida, she changed her membership to Roger Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradenton, Florida. Later she joined Bible Baptist Church in Palmetto, Florida.
She was employed and retired after 25 years of service from Pan America Nursery in Bradenton, Florida.
She loved the Lord and taught her children also to worship and fellowship together. She had much love for her Florida and South Carolina family. She and her husband returned every summer, so her children would know their grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Her passion was cooking, cleaning, traveling, watching television, and taking care of her grand/great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marion Rumph Sr. of 64 years, her infant daughter, Diane Rumph; her parents Joseph Sr. and Laura Johnson Felder; her siblings, Frank Felder, Joseph Felder Jr., Robert Felder, Bernice White (Albert), and Emma Ruth Jenkins; her brothers and sisters-in-law Albany and Maggie Rumph, Johnny Sr. and Christer Bell Rumph, and a host of other family members and friends.
She leaves to cherish fond memories eight children, Marion Rumph Jr. (Shirley-deceased), Larry Rumph (Gladys-deceased), Rubin Rumph Sr. (Rosa), Harry Rumph, Robert Rumph Sr. (Debra), Frances Dunbar (Kenneth Sr.), Shirley Benton (Donald), and Jacqueline Rumph; a sister Rosa Goldware, a brother-in-law Elijah Jenkins Sr., two sister-in-law's Mamie Felder and Annie Milligan; 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
