Lonnie Johnson Obituary

Lonnie Winston Johnson, was born on November 28, 1958, in Palmetto, Florida to the late Clifford and Doris (Presha) Johnson. Lonnie passed on June 1, 2024, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 65. Lonnie married Alfreda Johnson on July 22, 1998 and they have been happily married for 25 years and 11 months.
Lonnie came into this world with his identical twin brother, Johnnie but on June 1, 2024 he left this world, but not before accomplishing some things. He graduated from Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida, c/o 1976. He then served in the Army from 1976-1982. He held down several longevity jobs Goodwill 15 years furniture department, Walmart 15 years, and Longboat Key Club 10 years. Throughout these years he was able to touch the lives of many people. Lonnie loved to cook and bake, therefore was known for making his, “Vanilla Pound Cake.” When you say Lonnie people’s faces tell it all, the smiles are so BIG. And when calling to tell people the news of him no longer with us in the physical, the CRIES told it all how he had touched the people. But through it all up and downs, trials and tribulations, Lonnie loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Charlene; brothers, Ronnie, Timothy, and Anthony Johnson.
Lonnie leaves his cherished loving memories: Devoted and Loving Wife, Alfreda Johnson; his children Alexis (Jeffery Jr.) Pompey and Tammara (Eric) Williams of Palmetto, Florida; brothers, Allen Ray Johnson, Stanley Johnson, and twin Johnnie Johnson, all of Palmetto, Florida; sisters-in-law, Charlene Johnson of Palmetto, Florida, and Joan Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law, Mark Johnson of Palmetto, Florida; aunts, Helen Harrington of St. Petersburg, Florida and Eliza Flucker of Red Bluff, California; eight grandchildren, Tyreona Williams, Jaemaal Newson, Jaemyja Woodie, Azavon Lawton, Jaemari Phillips, Giovanni Lawton, Jeremiah Rice, and Jaedarian Rice; two great-grandchildren, Jionna Griffin and Grayson Lawton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
