Mary “Evelyn” Brown Sanders was born on February 7th 1934 in Capps Alabama to Reverend Arrie and Maggie Brown, who raised her with love, strength, and unwavering support. She is the 4th child out of 10 siblings, from a young age, she displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a natural ability to bring joy to those around her.
Whether it was her funny jokes, her caring nature, or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, she was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. A hardworking and ambitious individual,in spite of her disability she pursued a career in Cooking as a Salad Chef at Morrison Cafeteria later on moving to the Crab Trap. She and her husband also ran a part time home business selling quilts, mattresses, carpet and hosting weekly Garage sales with her best- friend of 50+ years, Marjorie Hill! Where her dedication, Good deals and passion left a lasting impact on Manatee County. She was deeply committed to hard work, making GOOD MONEY (SAVING as well) and always STRIVED to make everyone comfortable, loved and ensuring everyone she came in contact with knew they were thought of.
Beyond her professional achievements, Evelyn was a woman of many passions. She found joy in hosting parties, baking vanilla pound cakes (she would also let you know if you ate too many cakes if you put on a few pounds lol ),also baking peach cobblers, sewing and making hand made pillows and attending church services. She was always eager to share her talents with those around her. Whether she was spending time with family and friends of friends asking VERY INVASIVE questions such as “Are you married” “Do you have a boyfriend??” and her favorite line while smiling “Do he have some money ???!!” LOL) She embraced every experience with enthusiasm and love.
More than anything, Evelyn was devoted to her role as a Church Mother of Mt.Raymond FGBC under the leadership of Bishop S.D Pollard and current presiding Senior Pastor Bishop Jason Williams. Serving under many ministries within such as the mission ministry until her health declined and she could no longer attend in person services. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her. Her love for Husband Nathaniel Sanders, Daughter Eunice and Grandchildren. knew no bounds, and she took great pride in being a Mother, grandmother,Wife,Sister and friend. She is survived by her Daughter, Eunice Ruth Brown-Foster of Palmetto Fl, 2 GrandChildren, : Grandson Charles Spencer Jr “Chucky” (Pinellas Park FL), One Granddaughter Jordan Cassidy Ross (Palmetto Fl) One Great-Grandson: Kaiden I.
