Mother Mary Etta Horace was born on October 28, 1929
in Geneva County, Slocomb, Alabama to the late Mr. J. C. and Lillie Mary Pouncey. On February 3, 2023, she transitioned from this life into the presence of the Lord, for she believed, “to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).
She attended the public schools of Geneva County and moved to Manatee County in the early 1960’s.
Mother Horace accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was raised in the Church of God in Christ. Upon moving to Bradenton, Florida, she joined First Born Church of The Living God where she served as a dedicated Church Mother. She had a love for people and always wanted to be an encourager and helped anyone she met. Every morning she started her day with prayer, seeking God and interceding on behalf of her family, friends and anyone connected to her. Mother Horace was a woman of great faith and always had a word to encourage and strengthen the faith of others around her.
Mother Horace leaves to cherish her memo-
