Nicole Cheaves

On Saturday morning, January 28, 2023, our beloved Nicole Denise Cheaves entered into rest, at the age of 40, in Tampa, Florida. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her dedicated husband, Richard Cheaves, II. On November 11, 1982, Nicole was born to James and the late Deborah Johnson in Jacksonville, Florida. As a child, she relished in many opportunities which provided her with unlimited potential and capabilities. Nicole was raised in the Church of Christ where she was baptized at the age of 11. She had a special love for learning, reading, writing poems, drawing, and traveling. She married Richard Cheaves II on November 20, 2010. Over the years, Nicole obtained 2 bachelor degrees (Public Health and Nursing) from the University of South Florida. She touched so many lives throughout her years. She was a Supervisor at Metlife and she recently became a Registered Nurse (RN) Nicole leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Richard Cheaves, II; two daughters: Zjnai Davis, Rikiya Cheaves, three sons: Rickeem Cheaves, Taylon (Savoria) Cheaves, Richard (Alyese) Cheaves III; Father: James (Ellease) Johnson; two Brothers: James Johnson Jr. and Rodney (Maya) Johnson; four sisters: Valynda “Hope” Johnson, Stacy Robinson, Devora (James) Fedrick and Amanda Johnson. Uncles: Walter ( Morgan ) Avery Jr., Leonard ( Dianne ) Avery, Adrian ( Tracy ) Avery. In-laws: Richard ( Mattie ) Cheaves Sr. ; Sister-in-laws : Deana, Erica and Devan Cheaves. Uncle-in-laws: Jimmie ( Berlynda) Thomas Jr., Ross ( Denise )Thomas, Darnell Thomas, Arnell (Ruby) Thomas, Thaddeus (Tiki) Cheaves Sr., Alex ( Veronica) Cheaves Sr., Willie Cheaves Sr., Michael Cheaves Sr. Aunt-in-laws : Iona Gavin, Betty ( Karim ) Al-Ghani, Gwendolyn ( Jessie ) Halliburton, Mary Joseph. Granddaughter: Taylor Cheaves; Grandsons: Taylon Jr, Richard Cheaves IV. Close cousins - Charlotte Thomas, Vernon Thomas. Close Friends: Sam Davis, Prince Peterson, Sharren Durrand, Aisha Matthews, Tiffany Davis and Adam Artabasy A host of nieces, nephews, other close cousins, friends, neighbors and church family members.
