Robert Louis Brown, 83, was born December 8, 1940, to the late Ozelle Stephens and Lillie Mae Brown Taylor in Manatee County, Florida. He was educated in the Manatee County school system and graduated from Lincoln Memorial High School. He furthered his education at Gibbs Jr. College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and went on to Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he received his BA in Education.
Robert moved to New York in 1971. He was a devout Christian who loved God. Robert attended Living Word Church under the leadership of Pastor Benny Hurtado. He was the Director of the Gospel Choir and was also a member of the Church Board. He worked for New York City Department of Transportation until he retired in September of 2009. He returned to Manatee County in October of 2020. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by mother, Lillie Mae Taylor; father, Ozelle Stephens; and two brothers, Precious Charles Taylor and Ozelle Stephens, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his sweet memories: his stepmother, Carl Lee Stephens; sister, Shirley Robinson; nephews, Joseph and Christopher Robinson and Precious Charles Taylor, Jr.; niece, Sharetta Taylor; special friend, Leajato Robinson of New York;and a host of cousins, church family members, and friends.
