Rosemary Waiters-Murray Obituary

 

Rosemary Waiters Murray was born on August 13, 1946, to the late Frank and Gertrude Waiters.

She attended schools in Manatee County and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964 and attended Gibbs College in St. Petersburg, Florida. She worked in accounting for Manatee Opportunity Council and Domestics for Manatee Memorial Hospital, Freedom Village and the School District of Manatee County.

Rosemary loved cooking, especially pound cakes, singing, travelling and shopping with her sisters. She was converted at an early age under the pastorage of Reverend E. W. Cary at Providence M.B. Church and later joined St. John M.B. Church under the pastorage of Reverend J.D. Johnson. She has been a faithful member of St. John M.B. Church and served as Sunday School secretary, Women's Mission, head of the youth group and sang in the choir. She always found it a joy to work with children and tell them of the Goodness of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Gertrude Waiters, a son Garrett Deon Waiters and three brothers, Freddie and Larry Waiters and Alphonso Anderson.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories and to carry on her legacy; daughter Brigitte Sullivan (Herbert); sons Earnest Murray, III (Kathryn) and Demetrius Murray.

Sisters: Frankie Waiters Craddock (George deceased), Doris Waiters, Jean Waiters Williams (Robert), Gwendolyn Waiters Tift (Andre deceased), Linda Waiters Bacon, and Brenda Waiters.

Brothers: Frank Waiters, Jr. (Kathy), Alphonso Chandler (Crystal) and Anthony Waiters.

Sister-in-laws: Louise Waiters (Freddie deceased), Evelyn Stephens (Pete). Brother-in-laws: Dale Barton and Kenneth Barton.

Grandchildren: Desmond Peterson (Keah), Tichina Murray, Alexis Curtis, Damon Murray, Olyvia Murray, Jadan Murray, Tahj Murray, Marit Murray, Shanquavia Holmes, Luric Bartels. One Aunt: Bessie Mae Shuler.

Great grandchildren: Carson and Kai Rumi Peterson, Melaya Murray, Jacion and Nevah Curtis, and London Murray.

She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friends/cousins: Marilyn Buggs, Patricia Singleton, Laura Rowe, Vera Woodie and Sonya Sanders.
