Rosetta’s Journey
February 5, 1949 – September 3, 2025
Mrs. Rosetta Gordon was born in Bradenton to the late Leroy and Ethel Williams.
She was educated in the Manatee County Public School system, but early in her life, Rosetta realized she enjoyed helping others. This passion led to her pursuing and completing a certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Rosetta took great pride in being a nurse, and would offer her experience/expertise to ensure her family and friends received proper healthcare. Rosetta worked in several nursing facilities and hospitals in Manatee County. Her commitment to assisting others resulted in over 41 years of service in the nursing profession.
In 2010, after over 41 years of dedicated service to the health care community, Rosetta began to experience multiple health issues and retired from full-time nursing duties. However, her love for St. Paul Baptist Church led her to volunteering as an on-duty Sunday services nurse. She performed these duties until her declining health prevented her from participating in the program.
Rosetta was truly blessed to be part of a large family tree. She is survived by her brothers Leroy Williams Jr, Howard Williams, and her sisters Evelyn Rayford and Altemease Edwards (John).
She was preceded in glory by the following siblings: James Lee Jr., Odessa Cobbs and Lonnie Williams.
Rosetta was graced with three children: Her surviving children are Lavonnia Brown (Vernard), Renardo Bundrage and Andrea Dawsey. Rosetta is also survived by her husband of 12 years Mr. Roscoe Gordon.
To carry on Rosetta’s legacy, she leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. She also leaves nephews, nieces, and a host of family members and friends who loved and cherished her.
