Steve Peterson, 60, was born September 7, 1963, to the late Eddie Peterson and Addie Mae Fort Peterson in Bradenton, Florida. He passed away peacefully at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, with his son by his bedside.
He attended Manatee County public schools, graduating from Bayshore High School in the class of 1982. Up until his decline in health, he was a supervisor for Healthcare Services of Atlanta for many years.
He was reared in the House of God Church Keith
Dominion in Bradenton, Florida. Steve was a person with a great sense of humor. He was referred to as the family comedian.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Reginald Peterson, Robert Peterson, and Morris Peterson; one sister, Doris Peterson; and special friend, Darryl Frazier.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his one son, Desmond Peterson (Keah); two grandchildren, Carson and Kai Peterson; loving and devoted partner of 22 years, Mary Arnold; two sisters, Gwendolyn Peterson Carnegie and Carolyn Peterson; brothers, Vanester Peterson, Edward Peterson (Pamela), Harry Peterson (Teressa), Larry Peterson (Evelyn), and Michael Peterson (Lanita); one aunt, Pearlie Mae Fort; 16 nieces and nephews, 18 great- nieces and nephews, 59 great-great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great-great-nieces and nephews; loving godmother, Shirley Jenkins; two special friends, Keith Cooper and John Johnson; very special sister-in-law, Sandra Fay Weathersby; loving nephews, Keith Carnegie, Larry, Jr., and Kary Peterson; special great-nephew, Kaleb “Scooter” Carnegie; and a host of loving cousins and other family members.
