Terry Ackerman

Terry Leon Ackerman was born March 8, 1965 in Tampa, Florida. He was the son of the late Henry Ackerman and Mary Spikes Ackerman. He passed away August 31, 2022 at the age of 57. Growing up, he attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  Terry graduated from Manatee High School in 1983 where he excelled in football as the kicker and punter for the Hurricanes. After finishing school, he worked for Dillard Smith Construction for some time, and he also was employed at many restaurants as a cook where he was known as “ReRun”. Terry had a love for fishing like none other. He was an avid fisherman who fished every time he got the chance. He was preceded in death by brothers Willie Ackerman and Ozell Ackerman. He leaves to cherish his memories, brother, Mozell (Sheron) Ackerman, sisters, Osie Ackerman-Sailes and Jacqueline Ball, nephews Bertram (LaFran) Lawton and Alan Ackerman, nieces Vanzetta Thomas, Gladys Sailes, Alana (Les) Hewitt, ArdranaWalton, Regenique Hendry, and Reginae Hendry, a special cousin, Aaron Ackerman and a host of family and friends.
