Vinnie Mae Pompey was born July 4, 1936 in Boston, GA to the late Robert Bell and Carrie Bell Jones.
She was converted at an early age. She faithfully attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of various pastors, until her health began to fail. She also sang in Choir #1. She loved her church family.
She attended Lincoln Memorial High School. Upon finishing high school, she was employed at Manatee Memorial Hospital for about 20 years then retired and finished her retirement at Freedom Village. Cooking was her passion as well as shopping.
Vinnie married Roland Pompey, Sr. August 29, 1956 inPalmetto, FL. To this union two sons were born, Anthony and Roland Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roland Pompey, Sr.;Sons: Anthony and Roland Jr.; Stepson: Ronald Pompey.Parents: Robert Bell and Carrie Bell Jones. Nine brothers; Sam Bell, Willie C. Brandon, Bobby Bell, Sr., John C. Bell, Charles H. Bell, John L. Bell., Harius Bell, Warren Bell and Louis Bell.Three sisters; Shirley, Louise and Doris Bell.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Sister, Careatha Taylor, Palmetto, FL Two step-daughters: Stella (John) Vauss and Joynita (Leroy) Murray, both of Palmetto, FL. One sister-in-law: Mildred Wilson, Boca Raton, FL.; She has several step grandchildren. Also, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
